I have thirteen virtues I practise in rotation, devoting one week to each in turn: temperance, silence, order, resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, chastity, humility. I have never mastered all thirteen simultaneously. But the attempt has been worth more than the success.
