Nature is pleased with simplicity, and affects not the pomp of superfluous causes. Every force I have identified acts according to a single law. Gravity does not have a special rule for apples and another for planets β it is one inverse-square relationship that governs both. The unity of natural law is not my assumption. It is my discovery.
