Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people. I have spent my life in conversation in the Agora, and I can confirm: the conversations that concern what is justice, what is courage, what is the good β these are the ones after which both parties leave better. The conversations that concern who said what to whom at dinner leave everyone precisely as they were, except more entertained.
