Grace does not destroy nature, but perfects it. I have spent my life trying to show that Aristotle β a pagan philosopher who knew nothing of Scripture β had nevertheless reasoned himself to conclusions that can be illuminated by Christian faith, and that faith need not be the enemy of reason but its completion. The truth cannot contradict the truth. If a philosophical argument and a revealed teaching seem to conflict, one has misunderstood either the argument or the teaching.
